About staying in Avoriaz

When it comes to booking accomodation in Avoriaz there is a wide choice of purpose-built apartments, and a handful of chalets and hotels. The newly built complexes offer luxury facilities like spas, swimming pools and restaurants, while the older buildings offer apartments for those on a budget.

The beauty of Avoriaz is that no matter where you stay you can enjoy true ski in ski out freedom. Avoriaz is a purpose built resort and the town, despite it's growth over the last few years, is less than a mile end to end. There are no cars in Avoriaz only sledges and horse drawn carriages. Most people arriving in resort will either leave their car at the edge of the resort in the car parks or be dropped off at the top of the Prodains gondola.

Arrival and departure are really the only times when location will make much of a difference to your stay in Avoriaz as this is when you will need to transport your luggage to your apartment or hotel. There are snow shuttles and, as mentioned earlier horse draw carriages to make this easier and it is worth noting that a lot of the buildings have elevators so sometimes there is a short cut to be made going through buildings rather than around.

The buildings in the Amara and Falaise sectors are perched on the edge of the cliffs and have great views down to Morzine and enjoy spectacular sun sets. The apartments in the Festival sector are closest to the Tourist Office and piste-side restaurants as well as kids ski school.

Avoriaz is relatively small though, so no matter where you are staying you'll never be more than a five minute walk from anywhere else.
