About Disabled Skiing in Avoriaz
Avoriaz, as are the rest of the Alpine resorts, are improving year on year in their approach to making skiing more accessible to people with disabilities.
For information on adaptive skiing and the British Disabled Ski Team please visit Disability Snowsport UK. Watch their video on this page for more information about what they do.
ESF Avoriaz has specialised instructors trained to teach those with mobility problems. Adaptive ski equipment is available and included with the price of lessons. ESF request that lessons be booked in advance to ensure availability and that they be informed of the nature of the disability so that you can benefit from their most appropriate instructors and equipment.
All of the chairlifts, gondolas and cable cars in Avoriaz are adapted to take a handiski, making all of the pistes and snowparks available to handiski users. In Morzine, the Pleney gondola and the Nyon gondola are wheelchair accessible. All of the chairlifts are also adapted to take handiskis.
In Les Gets, the lifts that are handiski accessible are all within the Chavannes sector of the resort. This includes the chairlifts of La Croix, Chavannes Express, Perrières Express, Nauchets Express, Grains d'Or Express, Ranfolly.
