Heavy snow for Avoriaz
Late Christmas present of snow in the Portes du Soleil
After a lovely spell of sunny weather the snow has returned and looks set to bring exceptional conditions into next year.
It's been snowing heavily for the last few hours in Avoriaz, visibility is quite low and coupled with high winds, tree skiing will be the best bet for the next few days. Seeing as much of the Portes du Soleil area is open, the crowds appear to be spread quite thin, meaning lift queues are minimal.
Up to 10cm will fall today with further 15-25cm tomorrow. It will also get colder, with the rain-snow limit dropping down to 400m towards the end of the week.
