Skier Caught in an Avalanche in Chatel Yesterday

A skier was caught in a small slide yesterday in a couloir which started from a closed piste in the Chatel ski area. 

The person was only carried a few metres and was not buried, only sustaining small injuries to their face. A ski instructor on a nearby chair lift alerted piste security to come to the rescue. 

Head of Chatel's piste security Jean Brunet told France 3 that they were lucky that the slide occurred where it did and that the snow wasn't any deeper.
