Early Summer Opening in the Portes Du Soleil

Champery Les Crosets and Super Morzine to open early this summer

This summer the Champery-Les-Crosets Bike Park will be opening earlier than usual, on May 14th. Following the success of the Christmas opening, when poor snow meant the cable car was opened to bikes, the lift company have been keen to re open as early as possible.

Champery is famous for the steep and technical World Cup track, where Danny Hart famously took World Championship gold in 2011. The tracks around this area are amongst the steepest in the whole Portes du Soleil, and even the blue runs in Morgins are steeper than the average blue.

Following on from this news it has also been announced that the Super Morzine and Zore lifts will be opening early this year on the 15th of June to coincide with the Crankworx festival in Les Gets. This is excellent news as previously it had looked as though only the Pleney and Les Gets would be open, which could have led to a great deal of overcrowding with large numbers of people expected for Crankworx. They will also be staying open later in the season than usual, right up till the 11th of September.

There have been growing calls amongst holiday companies as well as local riders to keep the lifts open later in the year so it is a really positive move for businesses in Morzine.
