| Fête de la Glisse - December |
Avoriaz kicks off it's winter season with a 2-day celebration of snow sports! You can try out new gear with all the big brands displaying their latest offerings. There are demos, games and competitions to get you back into the winter swing of things as well as refreshments from local restaurants and bars.
There is normally a great party lined up for the evening with live music and entertainments on the stage throughout the day. |

| La Grande Odyssée - January |

Normally during the first week in January, this exciting event passes through the Portes du Soleil. Over 300 dogs spend over 5 days racing through the snowy landscape in what is considered to be the most challenging race of its kind. The trainers are amongst the best in the world and so big crowds and lots of media attention are anticipated! |
